My Bio

I am a real estate broker doing business in Pomona. Politics, history, and economics are my passion after real estate and law.

When I came to Pomona, not long ago I got in shock to see the tremendous needs of this city. After an intensive city government study, I knew that the only way to improve the city is by running for a city position. Even though I have never participated in any public position, I can't ignore the political change this town demands. I am confident that I can provide a different perspective. A different way that works for this city.

My Key Issues

Homelessness

Pomona needs an efficient mental, substance abuse, and general medical services for the people who are on the streets suffering the struggles of the social and economic crisis. Pomona can create its own clinics without cost for the very poor, and cost effective for the low- and moderated-income residents who can't obtain any other medical option. Working with the county, the state, and the federal governments, it can be possible. Pomona can create its own clinics, free of charge for the very poor, and cost effective for the low and moderated residents who can't obtain any other medical option. Working with the county, the state, and the federal governments, we can make that possible.

Deteriorated Streets and Alleys

The city has spent 15 million dollars on restoring 1 mile of Garey Ave. With 15 million we could restore most of our District 3 streets by doing it ourselves. The project doesn't only give the intended results efficiently, and at a low cost, but would produce a lot of local jobs. It would help the city businesses buying as much construction material possible from the city businesses, and it would collect a lot of more sales' tax as well. it is a win-win situation. Creating our own city construction company, buying the materials from Pomona, and contracting people from Pomona (preferably) is how we can restore our city streets and alleys at a low cost.

Housing Crisis

Pomona owns 30% of the land as a whole. We can build our own city owned homes on the city land, to combat the housing shortage. The city isn't to make profit out of the citizens. The city is to use its resources on the benefit of its own residents. People able to afford a larger and expensive house, they can, but the city is obligated to serve and protect the people who can't afford a roof on their head. An efficient city benefits everyone, the rich and the poor. We can solve the housing problem by building our own homes on our own land buying the construction materials locally and hiring people from the city, whenever possible.

Crime

The Pomona Police Department absorbers 50% of the city budget equivalent to 80+ million dollars yearly. The residents don't feel the effectiveness of the department. We need to restructure the department to hold them accountable for the cost and the results that the people deserve to receive in exchange.

Government Spent Austerity

To improve the condition of the city and the welfare of the people, we need to start by improving the city spending and efficiency. The city top directors salaries do not reflect the service results received. We need to reduce the top directors salaries at the level of the service received. We can get our best city employees in charge of the departments that provide poor results. While we value the work the city employees provide, we need to make intensive government institutions analysis to leverage the best human resources and restore the public service spirit that should drive every city department.

Public Parking

I have spotted at least two-different District 3 areas that need, desperately more public parking. Both areas have large land lots right next to the condensed apartment complex neighborhoods. We can work/negotiate those lots to create public parking for those residents. The benefits are multiple. For example, -free of cars streets vs streets packed with parked cars, both sides and driveways. -Safe, clean, and secured parking for the resident’s vs parking far from home risking the peoples' and their property’s safety. -Clean, wide, pretty streets vs clustered streets.

Street signs and Lighting.

District 3 has a lot of streets that need better signing, lighting, and line painting for safety reasons. Pomona public works and engineering need to be more effective on the service they are to provide. Some residents spend years demanding for better street paving, lines, signs and lighting, but the service never gets done.
